Satna, Madhya Pradesh | September 11, 2025
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare & Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, visited Satna in Madhya Pradesh today, reaffirming the Central Government’s commitment to ensuring timely and adequate supply of fertilisers and urea to farmers.
During his visit, Shri Chouhan addressed students at a program held at Excellence College and later interacted with the media. He acknowledged the concerns raised by local representatives and emphasized that farmer welfare remains a top priority for the Government of India.
“Some friends submitted memorandums regarding fertiliser issues. I want to assure everyone that we are actively working to resolve them. The Fertiliser Ministry is coordinating closely with the state to ensure supply meets demand,” he said.
Shri Chouhan revealed that the demand for urea in the district has surged due to good rainfall and an increase in paddy cultivation. Last year, Satna district recorded a urea consumption of 23,585 metric tonnes during this period. This year, however, 27,700 metric tonnes have already been dispatched to the region, reflecting a proactive response to the rising need.
“Even today, an additional 1,500 metric tonnes of fertiliser has been supplied to Satna to meet the increased requirement,” the Minister stated.
He highlighted the government’s ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Fertilisers and the State Government, assuring that supply chains are being continuously monitored and improved to prevent shortages.
“We are committed to ensuring that no farmer faces difficulty due to lack of fertilisers. If needed, further action will be taken to strengthen the system,” he added.
The visit comes at a crucial time, as farmers prepare for the peak agricultural season. The Centre’s assurance aims to provide much-needed confidence to cultivators across the region, particularly those engaged in paddy and other high-input crops.
