Anderson, an English geneticist and biometrician, developed the concept of metroglyph analysis in 1957. Metroglyph analysis is a semigraphic method which is used to study the pattern of morphological variation in large number of germplasm lines. Now this technique is in common use for the assessment of variability in plant breeding programmes. This is a simple technique for grouping of germplasm. The analysis is possible from both replicated as well as non replicated data
