Launched in June 2017, the Farmers’ Debt Relief Scheme in Madhya Pradesh aims to ease the financial burden on farmers by providing loans at low-interest rates. This initiative is designed to support defaulting farmers in getting access to much-needed credit, helping them restart agricultural activities without the weight of heavy debt.
The scheme also includes a compassionate component, offering compensation of Rs. 1 crore to the families of deceased farmers, providing crucial financial support to their kin. Through this scheme, Madhya Pradesh is committed to safeguarding farmers’ livelihoods and promoting sustainable farming.
