The GOBARDHAN (Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources) – DHAN scheme was launched in 2018 with the primary objective of promoting village cleanliness by effectively managing organic and cattle waste. It aims to generate wealth and energy from these bio-resources while creating new rural livelihood opportunities and enhancing the income of farmers and other rural people. The scheme targets the implementation of 700 projects across the country during 2018-19, which are planned to be carried out in two phases, with 350 projects in the first half of the year and the remaining 350 in the second half. This initiative integrates waste management with sustainable development to boost both rural economies and environmental health.
